| Description | NAIF1 (Nuclear apoptosis-inducing factor 1) contains a homeodomain-like region and two nuclear localization signals in the N-terminal region, showing largely nuclear localization. NAIF1 shows wide tissue expression and is conserved across a broad range of species including mammalian, bird, and amphibian. Overexpression inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis, decreasing mitochondrial membrane potential and activating Caspase-3. |
