Rabbit polyclonal to NKX2.Homeobox protein Nkx-2.3 (NKX2-3) is a member of the NKX family of homeodomain-containingtranscription factors, which are implicated in many aspects of cell type specification and maintenanceof differentiated tissue functions. Six members of the NKX2 subfamily are known in mice, three ofthem are expressed predominantly in neuro-ectoderm and tissues derived thereof (NKX2.1, NKX2.2and NKX2.9) and three in cells derived from mesendoderm and mesoderm (NKX2.3, NKX2.5 andNKX2.6). Targeted disruption of the NKX2.3 gene in mice results in anatomical defects of intestineand secondary lymphoid organs.
