Three individual RA donors and ten individual healthy donors were evaluated for the presence of Thymidine Phosphorylase in serum using this assay. Results were interpolated from the standard curve in Sample Siluent 25BS and corrected for sample dilution (1:2). The mean level of Thymidine phosphorylase was found at 1.7 ng/mL for RA donors with a range of 0.8 – 3.5 ng/mL. Only one healthy donor was found with detectable levels of Thymidine Phosphorylase in serum with a mean of 0.38ng/mL. Mann Whitney T test showed a significant difference between the RA and healthy group with a P value of 0.0035.
