A 3,5-diaryl-oxadiazole compound that acts as an inhibitor against the ATP-dependent Photuris pennsylvanica ( lucPpe ) and Photinus pyralis ( lucPpy ) luciferase activity (IC 50 = 0.08 and 2.8 µM, respectively, with 10 µM ATP, 10 µM luciferin, and 10 nM respective enzyme) and effectively inhibits lucPpe -based commercial luciferase-luciferin formulations (IC 50 = 5, 13.5, and 12.7 µM against Promega's Kinase-Glo ® , Kinase-Glo ® Plus, and Kinase-Glo ® Max, respectively, at a 3-fold formulation dilution and 6.77 µM ATP)
