• Description: MG-132 is a peptide aldehyde that forms a covalent hemiacetal adduct with the 20S proteasome, inhibiting the chymotrypsin-like peptidase activity (IC50 = 100 nM). MG-132 inhibition is reversible and the compound is cell-permeable. MG-132 also inhibits calpain activity (IC50 = 1 µM) and cathepsin activity. This compound inhibits TNFα-induced NFκB activation and IκB degradation, and induces neurite outgrowth in PC12 cells.
