Description |
Syntide 2 Peptide is a synthetic peptide recognized as a substrate by the Protein Kinase II (CaMKII or Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II) enzymes. The sequence of Syntide 2 is derived from the phosphorylation site 2 in the Glycogen synthase sequence. Syntide 2 has been used as a probe to assay localization of CaMKII activity and to study the effects of point mutations on phosphorylation activity. Numerous kinase enzymes including CaMKV and Raf-1 are reported to recognize Syntide 2 as a substrate.
