E2F-1 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody targeting E2F-1, also known as Retinoblastoma-associated protein 1 (RBAP-1) or Retinoblastoma-binding protein 3 (RBBP-3). Anti-E2F-1 antibody (C-7) is raised against amino acids 301–437 of human E2F-1 and is reactive with E2F-1 from human, mouse, and rat origins in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. E2F-1 is a pivotal transcription factor within the E2F family, playing a critical role in regulating genes essential for cell cycle progression, particularly the transition from G1 to S phase, as well as DNA replication and apoptosis. Post-translational modifications (PTMs) of E2F-1, such as phosphorylation, acetylation, ubiquitination, and neddylation, are crucial for modulating stability, localization, and transcriptional activity. For instance, phosphorylation by cyclin-dependent kinases can enhance E2F-1′s transcriptional activity, while ubiquitination often targets E2F-1 for proteasomal degradation, thereby controlling protein levels within the cell. These PTMs enable precise regulation of E2F-1′s function, ensuring proper cell cycle control and preventing aberrant cell proliferation. Dysregulation of E2F-1 activity or PTMs has been implicated in various cancers due to influence on cell cycle control and apoptosis. E2F-1 monoclonal antibody (C-7) is available in non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for diverse experimental applications.
