SEE ALSO...

MEF-2D Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects MEF-2D protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MEF-2D antibody (H-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. The myocyte enhancer factor-2 (MEF-2) family of transcription factors plays a crucial role in regulating the development and function of various cell types, including T cells, neuronal cells, and muscle cells. Among the four family members—MEF-2A, -2B, -2C, and -2D—MEF-2D is particularly important for muscle differentiation and gene expression. MEF-2D interacts with specific proteins, including myogenic basic helix-loop-helix proteins such as MyoD, myogenin, Myf-5, and MRF4, which are essential for muscle cell development. These interactions facilitate MEF-2D binding to the MEF-2 site in promoter regions of muscle-specific genes, thereby influencing transcriptional regulation. MEF-2D forms homo- and heterodimers with other MEF-2 family members, creating a complex regulatory network vital during embryogenesis and muscle development. Understanding MEF-2D function and interactions is essential for elucidating mechanisms underlying muscle differentiation and potential implications in muscle-related diseases.
