    SEE ALSO...

NCDN Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects neurochondrin (NCDN) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NCDN is a 729 amino acid leucine-rich cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in nervous system signal transduction and is essential for spatial learning. NCDN functions as a negative regulator of Ca2+-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 2 (CaMKII) phosphorylation, which is vital for various cellular processes, including synaptic plasticity and memory formation. NCDN interacts with melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (MCH-1R), influencing MCH-1R activity and potentially impacting bone metabolism, neurite outgrowth, and chondrocyte differentiation. Three isoforms of NCDN result from alternative splicing, highlighting diverse functional roles, with these isoforms being predominantly expressed in the adult brain and spinal cord, while lower levels are found in the fetal brain, ovary, and testis. NCDN localizes to the somatic regions of neurons and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 1p34.3 and mouse chromosome 4 D2.2, underscoring NCDN significance in neurobiology and potential implications in neurological disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398588 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
