SEE ALSO...

Cylindromatosis 1 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects cylindromatosis 1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cylindromatosis 1 antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cylindromatosis 1, encoded by the human CYLD gene located on chromosome 16q12.1, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a deubiquitinase, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. This function helps prevent misfolded protein accumulation and modulates pathways involved in cell proliferation and apoptosis, thereby influencing tumorigenesis. CYLD gene mutations can lead to familial cylindromatosis, characterized by multiple benign skin tumors known as cylindromas, which can become infected and cause significant disfigurement and discomfort. Cylindromatosis 1 expression is observed in various tissues, including brain, gonads, skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, heart, lung, and leukocytes, highlighting its importance in diverse biological processes. Somatic mutations in the CYLD gene have been implicated in the oncogenesis of tumors exhibiting cylindromatous features, making cylindromatosis 1 vital for understanding cancer biology.
