Background

The protein encoded by the DUX3 gene is a putative double homeobox protein 3 that, in isoform 1, is 197 amino acids long at 22 kDA, or, in isoform 2, is 170 amino acids long at 19 kDA. The DUX family resides in the 3.3-kb family that is associated with heterochromatin.
