Function	Force generating protein of respiratory cilia. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. Subcellular Location	Isoform 2: Cell projection, cilium, flagellum. Cytoplasm. Note=Detected in sperm tail, with almost exclusive localization to the principal piece. Also detected in the cytoplasm of primary spermatocytes. Location determined using antibody against peptide common to isoform 1 and isoform 2.
