Function	Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain.
Subcellular Location	Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
Tissue Specificity	Major isotype in brain, where it represents 46% of all beta-tubulins. In the brain, highest expression levels in the cerebellum, followed by putamen and white matter.
