Function SOCS family proteins form part of a classical negative feedback system that regulates cytokine signal transduction. May be a substrate recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin BC-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins (By similarity). Western blot shows lysates of Daudi human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, NC‑37 human Burkitt's lymphoma B lymphoblast cell line, Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line, and K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human SOCS‑6 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB5808) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for SOCS‑6 at approximately 100 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions, using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
